Significant Delays

Effective July 24, 2024 - July 25, 2024 All Mainline route severely delayed today due to construction and other work in the Dollar Hill and Carnelian Bay areas. Route delays are up to 30-40 min at this time. Please be patient and plan your trips accordingly or plan using alternate forms of transportation today.

Railyard Mobility Hub Open/Truckee Route Change

The HWY 267 route will no longer serve the Truckee Train Depot but will serve the Railyard Mobility Hub and the new stop by the Beacon Gas Station. HWY 89 Southbound and Truckee Local Westbound buses will NOT pull into the Depot lot - please wait at the new stop across the street from the Depot. Maps have been posted on TART buses and at bus stops. The new Railyard Mobility Hub in Truckee has been added as a stop on all Local and Regional routes. TART Connect Zones 4 and 5 are operating daily from 6:00pm-11:00pm

Service Reduction

Due to unforeseen circumstance, the 30 min Mainline service from Tahoe City to Crystal Bay and Crystal Bay to Tahoe City is suspended for the remainder of the season. All other Mainline service remains unaffected. Please plan your trips accordingly.

Truckee TART Dial-A-Ride

What is the Town of Truckee’s DAR Service?

The Truckee Dial-A-Ride service is offered year round to the general public with priority service for seniors and persons with disabilities. Free fares are offered on Dial-A-Ride to ADA certified passengers. This paratransit service is available for trips within the town limits, 6:30AM-6:30PM, daily.  To schedule a trip, please visit the Rider Webpage or download the Spare Rider App at the App Store or Google Play Store.  Trips can also be scheduled by calling (530) 550-7451.

For those who are eligible:

  • Reservations are required 24-hours in advance of your trip on weekdays and by 5:00 P.M. on Friday for weekend trips. Same day reservations are not accepted.
  • Wheelchairs must be fitted with working brakes, and motorized wheelchairs must be turned off while on-board the bus. Wheelchairs must be secured in the bus with tie downs.
  • Dial-A-Ride arrival “on-time” window for service is 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time to 15 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time. The Dial-A-Ride has a 3-minute waiting period at the scheduled stop. If the client fails to board the bus the ride is considered a “No-Show”.
  • Passengers must call in advance to cancel their reservation at least 2-hours before the scheduled ride. Non-canceled rides will be declared a “No Show”. The return ride will not be automatically canceled. Three (3) “No-Shows” will result in suspension of service. Notice of service suspension is provided to the client in writing.
